Go-Ahead Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 EV Demonstrator


Go-Ahead are touring their various areas of operation with GA74 ZEB. This vehicle is an Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 EV. It recently visited Morebus Bournemouth Depot, and I took the opportunity to be type trained.

Those that know me, will affirm that I am not keen on electric vehicles. However, as this vehicle is for work purposes that changes things a little.

I have always stated that I would never own an electric car as they are inconvenient.

GA74 ZEB is a pleasure to drive. Extremely smooth under acceleration and braking and has features that further enhance driver and passenger convenience and comfort.

Features include:

- Electronic Parking Brake which allows you to release it by just tapping the accelerator pedal. To apply it you just lift the switch.

- Clearer view with an improved windscreen design. Also less glare at night.

- Two wheelchair bays (one on the nearside and one on the offside).

Altogether, it was an amazing experience with the rapid acceleration and very little noise. I look forward to seeing if the company purchase any in the future.

  About Me and My Interest in Transport My interest in transport began when my Grandparents bought me a Corgi Original Omnibus 1/76 scale model. As a result I became interested in local buses (Yellow Buses and Wilts & Dorset). As my collection grew, so did my interest. With an ambition to work for Yellow Buses I applied for an apprenticeship in the Engineering Department. Sadly, the apprenticeship was not to be; for reasons beyond my control.
